With all the information and mis-information going around about COVID-19 and all it’s issues, it’s time to let a little common sense into the world today.

What we do know for certain is the COVID-10 is a virus.  As with any virus, as human beings, we are all susceptible to  infection of a virus and our best defense is a bolstered immune system.  So whether it be this current corona strain of virus, or if it’s just the common cold.  There are steps you can be taking for you health and the health of those around you.

Whether or not you believe the reports in the media about the infection rates and mortality rates, you need to at least pay attention for your well being and those that you care for.  So in this post, we’re going to be giving you simple steps you can take to be better prepared for what is to come.

As we get started, let’s talk about immune system boosting.  Our best defense to this COVID-19 virus is a strong offense, and there are 5 major steps you can take to help.

First – it’s important to REDUCE STRESS!!

The world can cause all kinds of things to go on that tend to make you worry and stress.  Remember that you can control YOUR thoughts and by keeping yourself calm – you reduce stress.  So above all – stay calm.  For many people this is easy to do and for others it is more of a chore.  Our wellness program members have access to stress reducing audios and videos that you can use for yourself and your loved ones, so if you don’t know how to reduce your stress, you may want to check our our wellness library.

Second – Nutrition is your friend.

Proper nutrition is important when it comes to keeping your immune system in tip-top shape.  You should continue to get your fruits and vegetables, since they are high in vitamins/minerals/ and anti-oxidants – all of which are beneficial for your health.  If you suffer with thyroid issues – I have a diet guide that is specifically for those of you suffering with thyroid issues – you can check it out HERE.

Third – Exercise keeps you going.

One of the other ways to boost your body’s immune system is to boost your body’s activity level!  When you exercise, you cause all kinds of toxins to be eliminated from the body and you can increase your oxygen levels throughout the blood stream.  This increase in oxygen, helps to purge the toxins and bathe the tissues in healthy oxygen.  This is not the time to start over-doing it.  Although exercise is  your friend, high levels of exercise can lead to injury and cause the body more harm than good.  So as with most things in life – moderation is the key.

Stay active, but don’t over do it.  Enjoy time with the family and friends.  Take a brisk walk, or do some moderate aerobic activity.  This is a sure-fire way to increase the body’s natural virus fighting ability.

Fourth – Visit your chiropractor.

This may sound a little strange, but studies have shown that a properly adjusted spine and functioning nervous system can actually boost the levels of immune fighting cells in the body.  Multiple studies have shown before and after levels of immunity in a persons body and after a chiropractic adjustment, the immune fighting cells are often increased.  So if you plan on visiting a doctor during this time – make sure it’s a chiropractor.

Fifth – Get your vitamins!

Increased levels of Vit A and Vit. D have been shown to be excellent deterrents to viral threats in the body.  Most people in today’s society are low on Vit D levels and of all the vitamins to add to your regime – this is the first one I’d recommend.  So – every person is different, and I don’t usually recommend a specific dosage, but if you want to take the time to speak with myself or my doctors, you can learn what specifically we recommend – depending on your current health.  So feel free to take the time to speak with our doctors and we’ll go over what we recommend and why – plus you’ll learn about our on-line wellness programs that we tailor specifically for each person and how you can be your healthy best!

Finally – Take Hope.

The world seems to go crazy over everything now a days, but I encourage you to take hope.  I believe that we were all created for a purpose and that purpose is unique for each and every one of us.  If you take the time to focus on your beliefs, I believe you’ll find hope as well.  During times of uncertainty and fear, we often see the worst of humanity and it’s actions, but I know this is also the time we see the greatness of humanity and the human spirit.  This is a chance to come together to fight a common foe and to rally around those that need our support and compassion.  So as you take care of yourself and your family – reach out to those around you and see if you can be a support for them as well.


These 5 things will help you on the path to keeping health and boosting your immunity.  Although we still don’t fully understand the COVID-19 outbreak, we know that we can take these steps to keep us healthy and happy.
